Itinerary

Day 1 – 22 Sep (Sun): Arrival in Munich, Germany
Welcome to Munich! Upon arrival a group transfer is provided to your hotel. On your afternoon orientation drive see the Olympic Stadium, built for the 1972 Olympics; the 1,000-foot-high Olympic Tower, the Ludwigstrasse, and the Bavarian Arch of Triumph and Field Marshall Hall. Also see the Königsplatz, the gothic Frauenkirche, and visit Marienplatz with its Old and New Town Halls and the famous Glockenspiel. Enjoy an included dinner tonight at the famous Hofbrauhaus.

Day 2 – 23 Sept (Mon): Munich. Excursion to Dachau
Visit the former concentration camp near Dachau, which in 1965 was created as a memorial to the victims, giving visitors a chance to learn how the prisoners were forced to suffer. There will be time to look around the memorial site and the museum and also see a documentary film on the history of the concentration camp. Return to Munich and enjoy a drive through Englischer Garten. The remainder of your afternoon and evening are at leisure.  An optional visit to Spaten brewery is available from your Tour Director.

Day 3 – 24 Sept (Tue): Munich. Oktoberfest 
Visit the BMW Museum. The museum offers a fascinating presentation of the company, brand and product history of BMW. About 125 of the brand’s most valuable and attractive automobiles, motorcycles and engines. Enjoy in-depth insights into the past, present and future of the BMW brand. Then transfer to Oktoberfest (entrance included) where you can enjoy the rest of your day. Enjoy dinner in a tent at the festival.

Day 4 – 25 Sept (Wed): Munich – Garmisch – Neuschwanstein – Lake Constance 
Leave Munich and drive to Zugspitze station Garmisch-Partenkirchen and take the Cogwheel Train directly to the Glacier train station where the Zugspitze Glacier at 8,530 feet opens up right in front of you. With the Glacier cable car you can float over the eternal ice and reach the summit which offers spectacular views down to the Lake Eibsee and a powerful panorama at the Zugspitze Peak. Then a visit to King Ludwig’s magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle, one of Germany’s most famous castles and inspiration for Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle at his theme park. Follow your Local Guide through this fairytale castle on its craggy outcrop high above a sparkling lake. Then, continue along the panoramic German Alpine Road to the sunny northern shore of Lake Constance, Europe’s largest freshwater reservoir.

Day 5 – 26 Sept (Thu): Lake Constance – Lindau – Stuttgart 
Visit the charming island of Lindau and the baroque church at Birnau before continuing to Stuttgart. Join your local guide for an orientation tour featuring Schlossplatz, Markplatz, and Rathus and Neues Schloss and Killesberg Park with its spectacular Observation Tower. Check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 6 – 27 Sept (Fri): Stuttgart 
Depart today for an exciting visit to the MERCEDES - BENZ MUSEUM which portrays the more than 130-year history of the automobile industry, from the very first day on. Filling nine floors and a surface area of 16,500 square meters, visitors can admire 160 vehicles and a total of more than 1500 exhibits. In the afternoon a guided visit of Porsche Museum will give you exclusive insights on the history of Porsche. More than 80 vehicles and many small exhibits are on display.

Day 7 – 28 Sept (Sat): Stuttgart – Heidelberg
Depart today for Germany’s oldest university town, of Student Prince fame. Time to stroll around in the Old Town, then ride the FUNICULAR up the hill and visit the red-walled castle where the Great Vat, a 58,000-gallon 18th-century wine cask, attracts particular attention. Then visit the Kathe Wohlfahrt store which specializes in Christmas decorations.

Day 8 – 29 Sept (Sun): Heidelberg – Frankfurt 
Today’s highlight is an included Rhine Cruise to enjoy scenic views of the Rhineland, including the famous Lorelei rock. Then continue to Frankfurt for your overnight stay

Day 9 – 30 Sept (Mon) – Frankfurt
Join your guide for sightseeing and discover the main sights including the historic Old Town with the Romer, the former city hall, the cathedral and St Paul’s Church. Also visit Goethe House where that great poet was born. Tonight a special farewell dinner has been prepared to say auf Wiedersehen!
